GeoQuiz
Hi! GeoQuiz is a blog that is updated daily and tests your knowledge on geography. There are two questions everyday: United States Geography and World Geography. To answer these questions, not only does your geography need to be keen, but your history, memorization, and logical reasoning must be sharp as well. Also included, the questions focus on one topic each week, such as Oklahoma or the Opium Wars in China. Finally, the answers to each questions appear the next day. A fact on geography is included each day, plus an interesting article to go too. Finally, there is a Word of the Day. So you see, you only have to come to my site for one use; you don't even have to bother with the Fact or the questions.
FACT: Did you know that the North Pole is where it is because it marks the northernmost point at which the sun can be seen at winter solstice?
UNITED STATES GEOGRAPHY: Since this blog starts today, Thursday, we will keep one topic until Saturday, then switch topics on Sunday. This week's topic is... New Mexico! Before we dive into the questions, let me give a brief description of New Mexico. One brief description begins every week (or at least Thursday).
New Mexico is located in the southwestern United States in an arid climate, its capital being Santa Fe. At its northwestern corner is the Four Corners, the place where New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah meet. New Mexico is roughly bisected by the Rio Grande and is covered with broken mesas, wide deserts, forested mountain terrain, and high peaks. Most of the arid land is given to grazing, and ranches with cattle and oxen cover the land. The major crops are hay and sorghum grains, while onions, potatoes, and dairy products are also important. New Mexican life is diverse and fulfilling.
The city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, has a metropolitan area with roughly what percent of the state's population?
- a. ten
- b. fifteen
- c. twenty

WORLD GEOGRAPHY: This week's topic (until Saturday) is the Czech Republic. Here is a brief description:

Compared to only 3,626,000 main lines (telephones) in use, 9,708,700 mobile phones are used! The currency is the Czech Koruna, but the external debt is $36.28 billion. Even though it is small, the Czech Republic boasts a lot.
